BONGAO, Tawi-Tawi—Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday saved a young man who was having an asthma attack while on board a Cebu Pacific flight to Zamboanga from Manila by giving him own his medical kit, a doctor said.
The congressman and senatorial candidate was on the same flight and on his way to Tawi-Tawi, to address the 35th commencement of the Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography of Mindanao University, when the incident happened.
And it happened because Abdul Aziz Alih, a law student of San Beda College in Manila, forgot to bring his nebulizer.
His asthma attack caused passengers to panic, and it was then that Marcos offered Alih his own medicine to make him breathe normally.
“I’m asthmatic myself, so I know what he was going through,” he said.
Marcos said he had already forgotten the incident before his speech at the university, but Allih’s father, a doctor and chancellor of MSU-Tawi-Tawi, made sure Marcos did not forget.
“Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to Congressman Bongbong Marcos—the man who saved my son,” Eddie Alih said to applause.
“If not for this man, I would probably be in grief right now.”
