ZAMBOANGA City - A court in Jolo, Sulu has released an arrest warrant for 20 leaders and members of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) for the death of 2 US soldiers in Indanan town last year.
The warrant of arrest under Criminal Case number 1119-4 was issued May 21, 2010 with no bail bond recommended.
Ordered arrested were commanders Khaid Adjibon, Ahadon Adak, Tahil Sali, Abraham Joel, Jun Ajibon, Kira Dain, Salip Anwar, Khalid Sali, Aziz Jihili, Beji Jihili, Salip Anwar Muda, Salip Ardi, Salip Hassan, Tuan Salip Oms, a certain alias 'Mahan', 'Radzmir', 'Ujib', 'Sakur', 'Radzmir', 'Badi', 'Marlon', 'Mahang', 'Chippy', 'divo', 'Jid', 'Tim', 'Roy', 'Ronnie', 'Wahid', 'Bong', 'Jul', 'Ibrahim' and several John Does.
The MNLF members were accused of planting a roadside bomb in Barangay Kagay, Indanan, which exploded while a convoy of Philippine Marines and US troops were passing.
Earlier statements issued by the military disclosed that the US soldiers were accompanying elements of the Armed Forces of the Philippines to inspect a project.
Zain Jali, a top official of the MNLF-Nur Misuari faction, however said their members are not involved in the bombing.
“We already have an agreement signed right after the release of the ICRC workers that our members will never be involved in any lawlessness," Jali said.
He also said that the Abu Sayyaf Group has already claimed responsibility for planting the explosive,
“So why blame our members now? It’s not the work of Khaid Ajibon," Jali said.
Jali also said that should the government troops wish to see their members within their camp, “there should be proper coordination.”
He said if the government will ask the MNLF leadership to surrender their men, “we can not have them surrendered.”
