Sulu town gets P19.8-million fishing port

BANGUI-NGUI, Sulu – The Regional Port Management Authority (RPMA) of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) will formally turn over the P19.8 million fishing port to the municipal government here on Thursday.

Mayor Abdulwahid Sahidulla said Friday officials of the RPMA will formally turnover to the municipal government here on Thursday the newly-completed Tongkil Fishing Port.

Expected to grace the event are officials from the ARMM-Regional Planning and Development Office, officials from donor-countries like the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and other top officials of the ARMM, the mayor here said.

The fishing port is located in Barangay Dungon here and is the first concrete port that the local government here was able to obtain from the ARMM regional government, he said.
